About Karina.

A camera takes a picture, but an outstanding photographer captures the essence of the life in that moment. Karina Hiller, an on location photographer based out of Calgary, Alberta, does that and more. Specializing in maternity, newborn, children, families and weddings, Karina pushes the boundaries of the beauty in a picture into a realm rarely seen. With her artistic eye and simplistic yet stunning style, she turns fleeting memories into tangible keepsakes.

Four years ago, after the birth of her first daughter, the impulse to catch every second of this brand new life lead her to the camera. Soon, it began acting as another limb and her love of photography began to flourish and grow. With hard work, a great amount of passion and the drive to learn and perfect this medium, Karina has fine-tuned this art form into the striking images you will see today.

This dream became reality due to the love, support and encouragement of her amazing husband Jamie, her two little girls, her friends and family and all those who asked her to capture part of their journey. Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to take your time, leave a comment and enjoy some pieces of my life’s passion.

December 12, 2011 - 4:54 pm Lani Derrick - Amazing!! Beautiful children!! Thank you for sharing these photos with me!

The Gift.

A pile of presents waits under your tree for the excited commotion and joy of Christmas morning. As we get older it really does become more exciting to give than receive. We wait with anticipation and nervous excitement as our family opens their gifts from us because we want them to enjoy what we’ve given. Their face, their joy and their sincere gratitude is what makes Christmas great. As important as these moments are…do you actually remember what you got for Christmas in 2005? What about 1988? Most gifts, though greatly appreciated, are forgotten and then eventually thrown out as the years pass. Merry Christmas!

Now there IS a gift that will never be forgotten if you truly receive it. There is a gift that ‘keeps on giving’. There is a gift that will change your life not just for a year, but for your eternity. God’s gift to the world was the death of his Son Jesus to pay for the sins of all who would put their faith in him. Many people believe they’ve received this amazing gift and are ‘alright’ with God. But I think of my dad getting an iPod Touch for Christmas last year and putting it in the junk drawer. He has a great gift that would have cleaned up a pile of CDs, scheduled his jobs, compiled his contact lists, and provided some entertainment while he’s on the road. But though he understands what it is, he never applied it to his life and therefore it sits in a drawer doing nothing. Many people do this with Jesus.

We all have a debt against God. Every sin we commit is added onto our debt and it continues to grow exponentially. God owed us nothing; he gave us life and gave us a chance to know him, but our sin separated us from him forever. So God, being gracious and full of mercy, sent Jesus to live the life we were supposed to live, and die the death we were supposed to die. The CROSS was more than physical death…it was God’s hatred of sin poured out on the only sacrifice that could pay for it.

The gift has been paid for. His hand is extended, his heart is to see you forgiven and cleansed, he wants to make you a new creation in his Son, he wants you to be reconciled to him, he wants you to come to him for mercy and receive the Gift. ALL who come to the cross and trade their life for Christ’s life will be forgiven. Every sin you have ever committed (and will ever commit) will be nailed to the cross and left there. Christ’s perfect righteousness gets credited to your account, and God adopts you as his child. When he sees you, he sees his Son’s righteousness because you have been cleansed!

Eternity? In Christ you have gained paradise, Heaven, God. Entrance is NOT through good deeds or your own brand of righteousness. You don’t get in by superficially “believing” in bible stories. You have to trade your life in for His. Many years ago God spoke to me and said, “Why don’t you trade in your hand-full of pennies for a bar of gold?”

If Christ hasn’t changed your life and you call it ‘religion’, chances are you haven’t received the greatest Gift ever given to man. He’s in the junk drawer of your life and has no eternal benefit to you at all. Every man who has had a true encounter with Jesus Christ will be changed, forever growing in the knowledge of God, passion for Him, and holiness. All who humbly come to the Cross of Grace will be forgiven and called children of God. Jesus Christ – God’s gift to mankind.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Happy Birthday Jesus! I am eternally grateful for your birth and death.

~This was written by Ryan Stockert who is a great man of God, and a great friend of ours, we are so truely blessed to have you in our lives.

Have a VERY Merry Christmas
